April 24, 2020 Weekly Principal’s Memo

I hope your families are safe and doing well as we continue to work through the COVID-19 crisis. I would like to thank you once again for your continued support and cooperation with our educational staff. The feedback we continue to receive from the parent community has been very positive and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving our Teachers and EAs the positive impetus required for the delivery of the continued learning program.

Kindly remind your children to take the time to carefully review and pay close attention to the directions the Teachers are sending with many of their assignments. We are finding that most of the work being done by our Students has been of a very high standard, however, we are also noticing that in some cases mistakes are simply being made because directions have not been followed with lack of attention to the details. This method of learning is new to all of us, so we ask for your continued support in this area. This will only help our children further develop in their ability to become independent learners.

In closing, despite what you may have recently read or heard in the media, the Ministry of Education has not yet given our schools any clear or concrete directives in terms of what and when a return to school for our students may look like. What has been offered up in the media has been based on rumours and speculation. We will continue to take our directives from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and our CISVA Superintendent’s Office.

Wishing you a safe and happy weekend,

Mr. Dino Alberti
Principal
