*This year, the PEC and I would like to extend our sincere gratitude for your generous support of our school fundraisers. As a token of that gratitude, and in light of the current COVID-19 regulations, we are informing all of our parent community that your fundraising hour expectation of 10 hours per year will be reduced to 5 hours for the 2020/21 school year. This year’s Pub Nite will assume the format of a virtual silent auction accompanied by a variety show and prize video. A memo will be forthcoming at the end of the week.

*With the onset of winter weather conditions, just a friendly reminder to ensure your children are coming to school dressed appropriately for the weather (ie. jackets, gloves, etc).

*Our sincere gratitude goes out to our families at Holy Cross School for continuing to follow the protocols laid out in our 2020 Health & Safety Plan. We continue to advise families of our school community to continue to err on the side of caution when deciding to send your children to school. In light of the most current press release from Dr. Bonnie Henry, I continue to commend our school community for their responsible cooperation with our Health & Safety Guidelines and I strongly urge our parents to continue with their diligence in this area. As a group, I believe we can continue to manage COVID-19 issues at the school level, but it is critical as our Provincial Health Officer regularly mentions that these guidelines are followed outside of the school as well. Thus far, your discretion and judgement has been outstanding and it has helped to maintain a safe school environment for all of us.

*In an effort to stay current with regular Ministry of Health & Safety Guidelines, we will hold off on sending home the January calendar until Monday, January 4.

Wishing you God’s blessings at Christmas and throughout the New Year,

Mr. Dino Alberti
Principal
