May 21, 2020 Weekly Principal’s Memo

I would like to start off by thanking all of the Families who took the time to complete the survey with great thought and deliberation. I am happy to announce that over 94% of the Student Population responded to the survey. The responses indicated 52% of our School Population will return to school on June 1 and 48% will continue at home with the Online Continued Learning Program.

For planning purposes, it is important to note that from Kindergarten to Grade 5 the Students will be divided accordingly…

  • Alphabetically by last name from A-L – Monday & Thursday
  • Alphabetically by last name from M-Z – Tuesday & Friday
  • Grade 6 & 7 Students – Wednesday

As mentioned in my previous email, it is important to note that students should not be dropped off at the school prior to 8:30am. As I have already also indicated, Lunch & Recess times will be staggered to allow for Social Distancing. Further details about Student Expectations and Parental Expectations will be issued next week. Please also note that our Student-School Safety Plan will also be posted on our website next week. The Students on the Continued Learning Program will proceed as already established.

As prescribed by the CISVA Office, all Schools are required to take up to two planning days next week in preparation for the June 1 re-opening. Therefore, as of 12 noon on Thursday and all-day Friday, the Teachers will be offline. Please note any Students in the ESW Program will continue on those days as scheduled.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

Mr. Dino Alberti
Principal
